last time this year, mike and i sat with our family at our church's thanksgiving service expecting our first child, without health care, a home, permanent residency (for mike), a car, a job, or any clear direction for our future. this year we sat at the same service overwhelmed with thanksgiving. as sammy quietly snored, snuggled up against mike's chest, we sang "blessed be your name" with our church community and reflected on God's faithfulness to us. the pastor encouraged us during the service to list the things we were thankful for, and our list expanded past the lines provided for us. we have much to be thankful for this year. as much as i could (and at times do) complain about the lack of sleep, the loss of freedom, and the frustrations of being a new mom, times like this reminds me of how good God is, and how much i have to be thankful for.

happy thanksgiving to all our american friends!

here are some pictures of our thanksgiving dinner with family.
